Gretchen VanWormer grew up in Burlington, VT. She is the author of a chapbook of essays, How I See The Humans, published by CutBank, and her essays appear in Ecotone, theJournal, theLos Angeles Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. Her photography appears in Orion. While completing her PhD in Creative Nonfiction, she also served as a volunteer docent for the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Osage Nation, OK. She serves as Assistant Professor of Creative Nonfiction at UT – Dallas.
